FACULTY POSITIONS IN HEALTH SERVICES RESEARCH
Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, invites applications for up to three faculty positions in health services research. Our program is multidisciplinary and applies multiple methods, both quantitative and qualitative, to analyze, plan, and experiment with policies and practices in
healthcare, with opportunities to directly study the Mayo Clinic practice at its main sites as well as at the Mayo Practice-based Research Network, including sites in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. The health services research program at Mayo Clinic includes the Division of Health Care Policy and Research, the Knowledge Translation Research Unit component of the Mayo CTSA, and the Knowledge and Encounter Research Unit.
Specific requirements for the position are: a doctoral degree in a field relevant to health services research, a demonstrated track record in directing research projects, collaborating with others in a multidisciplinary setting, and securing extramural funding. The candidate should have leadership experience and excellent interpersonal skills. Opportunities exist to engage in:
• Evaluation of health promotion programs, including worksite programs
• Comparative effectiveness research
• Operations research
• Health economics and disparities
• Survey and patient-reported outcomes research
• Quality and implementation research
• Knowledge synthesis
• Knowledge translation (including shared decision making)
The successful applicant will be expected to possess a broad understanding of one or more of the above areas and have strong methodological skills in experimental and observational designs, intervention research, survey methodology, and statistical analysis, although support in of these areas is also available. Responsibilities will include obtaining extramural research funding, publishing research in peer-reviewed journals, graduate teaching
and advising, and providing national leadership in health services research.
