Health Services Research Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Heath Services Research to join our vibrant program focused on improving the processes, quality, and outcomes of healthcare. Our program is multidisciplinary and applies multiple methods, both quantitative and qualitative, to analyze, plan, and experiment with policies and practices in healthcare. Researchers are able to directly study the Mayo Clinic practice at its main sites as well as at the Mayo Practice-based Research Network, including sites in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Our program includes the Knowledge Translation Research Unit component of the NIH-funded Mayo CTSA, the Division of Healthcare Policy and Research, and the Knowledge and Encounter Research Unit. Opportunities exist to engage in: • Knowledge synthesis • Knowledge translation (including shared decision making) • Comparative effectiveness • Operations research • Health economics and disparities • Survey and patient-reported outcomes research • Quality and implementation research The successful applicant will be interested in developing and advancing a scientific program of research in one or more of these areas. Primary responsibilities of this position will be: 1. Research design and technical assistance to investigators; 2. Develop and conduct high quality substantive and methodological research; 3. Publish peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and/or books; 4. Compete for external funding. 5. Teach and/or serve as a teaching assistant in the Master’s in Clinical Research program. Candidates must have completed doctoral training by the time of entry into the program in one of a variety of fields including, but not limited to, public health, social science, health research methodology, or health services research.
