EPIDEMIOLOGY
The Division of Epidemiology in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine seeks highly qualified candidates for positions in the tenure track, clinician-educator track, and the research track at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor level. Academic rank and track will be commensurate with credentials and experience. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in and commitment to education and research. The primary faculty appointment will be in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Department of Medicine, or other School of Medicine department, as appropriate.
Tenure track faculty will be principal investigators of extramurally funded research projects.
Clinician Educator track faculty will typically be focused on collaborative research as co-investigators.
Research track faculty typically work on extramurally-funded research within the research group led by a tenured faculty member.
Responsibilities include participation in Penn’s Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics training programs, teaching and patient care activities in the faculty member’s clinical specialty (if relevant), and development of a research program.
We are seeking faculty with research interests in genetic or molecular epidemiology of cancer and cardiovascular disease, reproductive epidemiology, dermatologic epidemiology, renal epidemiology, cardiovascular epidemiology, obesity, epidemiology of gastrointestinal diseases, and pharmacoepidemiology. Applicants with an interest in global health are also solicited. Applicants in other research areas will also be considered. Both clinicians and non-clinicians are invited to apply.
The expected start date is January 2010, or after.
