Overview
IMPAQ International, located near Washington, D.C., is a woman-owned growing and dynamic social/economic research organization providing high-quality research and impact evaluation services, policy analysis, and technical assistance for U.S. and international government agencies. IMPAQ specializes in designing and implementing research projects to evaluate the effectiveness and cost/benefit of social programs.

Job Profile
IMPAQ is seeking full-time Senior Research Epidemiologists to build a research area in comparative effectiveness and pharmacoepidemiology evaluation and research, including such topic areas as patient safety, quality of care, children’s therapeutics, mental health, and chronic conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and conducting  research projects, including:
  • Developing conceptual models;
  • Developing experimental designs;
  • Collecting and analyzing large data sets;
  • Performing policy analysis;
  • Developing case studies;
  • Conducting site visits;
  • Writing technical reports and proposals;
  • Making presentations to government clients.
  • The Senior Research Epidemiologist will be expected to demonstrate leadership in initiating business development activities for current and new clients, manage research projects, and provide leadership to team members.

Qualifications
Education

  • A Ph.D. in epidemiology, statistics, public health or a related field

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience; or at least 3 to 5 years of post-doctoral experience in the health research field;
  • Experience in process analysis, evaluation, and  experimental research design activities;

Skills

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills;
  • Ability to think strategically about research issues and programs;
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex technical material, both orally and in writing. Strong writing and editing skills a must.
