- persons with the titles of professor, associate professor,
assistant professor, and instructor who serve on appointments
totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are
eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and
responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload
guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each
faculty member's tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as
appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include
research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These
faculty will have earned a doctorate or other terminal degree
in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent
experience.

Information:
The
Division of Epidemiology in the College of Public Health
invites well-qualified candidates for a tenure-track position
focusing on, but not limited to, 1) non-communicable diseases
other than cancer, 2) infectious diseases other than sexually
transmitted infections, or 3) epidemiologic methods.
Candidates in one of these areas who also focus on racism as a
public health crisis are of particular interest. The position
is open rank with a preference for Assistant or Associate
Professor ranks. The successful candidate will be expected to
contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic
community through their research, teaching, and service.
The
successful candidate should demonstrate (1) a record of
rigorous and high-impact research and scholarship, appropriate
for the rank sought, (2) potential for excellence in teaching
and mentoring of public health students from diverse
backgrounds, and (3) a demonstrated commitment to inclusion
and diversity.
Qualifications:
Applicants
are expected to have a doctoral degree in public health with a
specialization in epidemiology, or a closely related degree
with public health or practice experience. Rank and salary
will be determined by the candidate's credentials.
About the
College:
The College
of Public Health is Ohio's first accredited college of public
health. First established in 1995 as part of the College of
Medicine, the University Board of Trustees created the College
of Public Health in 2007. In 2022, U.S. News & World Report
ranked Ohio State's College of Public Health graduate program
19th of all Schools of Public Health. It is one of seven
health sciences colleges on the same campus, more than any
other university in the U.S. The college includes five
academic divisions, two centers of outreach and engagement,
four graduate degree programs with several specializations,
and an undergraduate degree with two specializations, and two
undergraduate minors. Specializations within the college
include biostatistics, environmental health sciences,
epidemiology, health behavior and health promotion, health
