The Division of Epidemiology in the Department of Family Medicine and Population Health at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) invites applications for a tenure-eligible Associate or Full Professor.  The Division is a premiere public health program, recognized for innovative, experiential training for a new generation of public health leaders and rigorous research that improves population health and health equity.

About the Division: The Division currently consists of 7 core faculty with active research programs in behavioral/cancer epidemiology, maternal/child health, psychiatric epidemiology, genetic epidemiology, traumatic brain injury, and social disparities in health. Located in the state capital of Richmond, Virginia, approximately 100 miles south of Washington, D.C., this position offers opportunities for interaction and research collaboration with faculty in two other public health departments, clinicians, and practitioners and policy makers in state and local agencies. VCU boasts one of the country's most comprehensive health sciences centers, including the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, and Allied Health Professions, as well as the NCI-designated Massey Cancer Center, the C. Kenneth and Dianne Wright Center for Clinical and Translational Research, the Center on Society and Health, and the Virginia Institute for Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics.  For more information, see www.familymedicine.vcu.edu.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a doctoral degree in epidemiology or related field and be eligible to work in the United States.  Those with an interest and strong background in epidemiologic methods are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have a well-developed scholarly/research portfolio with clear evidence of multi-disciplinary applications and external funding appropriate to complement and expand existing expertise in the Division as well as accomplishments in graduate-level teaching and other professional activities commensurate with appointment as a tenure-eligible Associate or Full professor.  All candidates should have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU. Individuals with research and teaching interests in all content areas are welcome to apply.

Application Process:  Applicants should submit: (1) a personal statement, (2) their curriculum vitae, and (3) list of three references to www.vcujobs.com, Position #F33350.   Applications will be accepted and reviewed until the position is filled.
