Job
Description:
The
postdoctoral scholar is responsible for independent and
collaborative development, implementation, and analysis of
scientific research in the discipline of pediatric HIV and
prevention of mother to child HIV transmission (PMTCT). This
research will utilize the Central Africa International
epidemiologic Database to Evaluate AIDS (CA-IeDEA). CA-IeDEA
is part of the NIH-funded International epidemiologic
Databases to Evaluate AIDS (http://www.iedea.org/):
A multi-partner, multi-center project to combine data on
cohorts of patients receiving HIV care and treatment globally.
These data can be merged within and across regions to address
research questions related to the impact of the ART rollout on
HIV-related clinical outcomes. The network infrastructures can
also be leverage for new data collection. Responsibilities
include developing concept proposals for new analyses,
performing data analyses, report writing, supervision of
undergraduate and graduate research students, and the
development of independent and collaborative presentations and
publications. Additional opportunities exist for teaching,
developing new studies and collaborating on other ongoing
studies. The scholar will be given the opportunity to develop
their own projects based on their specific interest as long as
they are within the broader research area of the supervisor.
Approximately 80% of the post-doctoral scholar's time will be
devoted to managing the scholar's day-to-day activity which
includes conducting the specified studies referred to above as
well as help graduate and undergraduate students as needed.
The remaining 20% will be devoted to the scholar own projects
including the development of a carrier development
application. This is a multi-year position. The postdoctoral
researcher’s starting salary will be set based on the current
NIH NRSA postdoc stipend scale and commensurate with previous
experience.

Required
Experience:
