Update on the Kent State University College of Public Health (Kent, Ohio)

The College of Public Health offers the Undergraduate Certificate in Public Health; the Bachelor of Science in Public Health; the Master of Public Health in five specializations (Social and Behavioral Sciences, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Policy and Management and Environmental Health Sciences); and the Ph.D. in Public Health with a specialization in Prevention Science (specializations in Epidemiology and Health Policy and Management have been approved for Fall 2012).  Student enrollment has exceeded initial projections. The college currently has over 230 active undergraduate students and 88 active graduate students.  The student body is diverse with 70% female students and underrepresented minorities comprising 27% of the graduate and 15% of the undergraduate students. International students are also well represented in our college (10% of active graduate students). Enrollment is projected to increase in the next academic year to 350 undergraduate students and 100 graduate students (MPH and PhD).

The College has recently moved into newly renovated space in Lowry Hall and has sufficient resources for faculty and students including offices, classroom access, computer technology, and computer lab space.  The University also invested in a newly renovated Environmental Health lab located in the basement of the University Health Center.  The college has a five-year space plan that will provide additional resources in Moulton Hall, adjacent to Lowry Hall.
